Using a picture book

• Please use the following book for this assignment. The book is an early childhood picture book:

Dubosarsky, Ursula. (2012) Too Many Elephants in this House. Viking Books, Penguin Group, Australia.

• Please use the template created in word for the assignment (attached as a file). If the template does not work, just complete the assignment on a word document under the headings (code breaker, text participant, text user, text analyst) and I will paste it onto the template.

 

• There is no word count for this assignment as it is just coursework.

 

• Please also see the assignment exemplar attached as a file as an example to do the assignment.

 

• Please use the four resources model:

• Text Participant
• Text User
• Text Analyst
• Using the four resources as a framework (code breaker, text participant, text user, text analyst), identify the potential the book has for teaching young children in the early years about literature, language and literacy. Select two examples for each of the four resources and record these under each of the headings on the template in the four resources (code breaker, text participant, text user, text analyst).

 

• Include brief details of learning activities that will help young children in the early years to build each of the resources (code breaker, text participant, text user, text analyst) to become literate individuals.

 

• The article attached as a file (Map of possible practices- the Four Resources Model) will be useful as you prepare the assignment.
