A soap solution with a viscosity 10% lower than that of water but having the same density as water is run through the spray wand described in Problem 13.45. What pressure is required for this flow?

Problem 13.45

The spray wand at a car wash shown in Figure P13.9 has a 1/4 in. exit nozzle and requires 100 ft/s exit velocity. The piping system from the pump consists of 50 ft of 1 in. commercial steel pipe with three standard elbows, one open gate valve, 15 ft of rubber tubing, and 4 ft of 1/2 in. commercial steel, which makes up the wand. The pump is located about 6 ft below the exit of the wand. What pressure is required to drive water at 70째F through the spray wand?
