ROBBERY White collar crime
Each student will be assigned a topic in violence and choose a theory to explain that topic. Each student will write a 5-8 page research paper about the topic and theory. The page length does not include the title page or list of references. The paper will be worth a total of 100 points toward your final grade. In the paper you should at a minimum, include the following:

1. A history and background of this type of violence in society:
a. A description of the demographic characteristics of those who engage in this type of violence
b. The historical impact this type of violence has had on society
c. The methods used to carry out this type of violence or the circumstances under which this type of violence usually occurs
d. The primary target group of the perpetrators and the rationale used by the group to justify
target selection
2. A history and background of the chosen theory explaining this type of violence:
a. Major theorists involved in developing the theory
b. The theory as it applies to the type of crime
3. Discuss the threat(s) this type of violence presents to society in the future and suggest at least two policy recommendations for addressing this type of violence, using your selected theory
General Guidelines:

a. Have one inch margins on all sides
b. Use 12 point, Times New Roman font
c. Be double-spaced
d. Follow APA style version 6 for citing references
e. Adhere to the page minimum and maximums.
f. Included references must be from peer reviewed journal articles. No internet sources will be accepted — journal articles retrieved from internet sites are acceptable
g. Not use internet sites for any information (e.g., no Wikipedia or eHow references!).
h. Not have 2 quotes/citations back to back. You must insert your own thought between citations. Otherwise your paper becomes o list of other peo0le’s thoughts. Citations are used to support your thoughts rather than just listing facts lifted from sources.
