How might these similarities and differences affect your behavior personally and in the workplace?
Johnson’s (2013) timely reminder about being “humble” (p. 42) resonates with me as it is easy to fall into the trap of believing that you are better than others. While educational pursuits and having a good career are important, the ability to be compassionate towards others in and out of the workplace strikes a better balance. Being a servant leader and making decisions that enrich someone else’s life should be part and parcel of everyday living.
