Proton Transport in Chloroplasts

Proton Transport in Chloroplasts

This is a lab report for my biochemistry lab. We obtained 50 g of spinach leaves (we stripped them from the stems), then made a concentrate out of it. Then we made three solutions and added different compounds to two of them, before exposing them to a pH meter, in order to observe the effects the different compounds had on the proton transfer rate of the chloroplasts. NOTE: The solutions were exposed to 60 seconds of light, followed by 30 seconds of darkness, which was repeated twice, as the pH of each solution was measured. The absorbance values of each solution were also taken after being exposed to light at 652 nm.
