PROMPT:

 

For this essay, I want you to take a stance on a topic you’re passionate about and argue whether or not some aspect of society or service or procedure needs reform. For this last research project, I’m giving you the option of responding to a subject matter that relates to your degree program/job field or an extracurricular subject you feel strongly about. I encourage you to meet with me after class or through email to discuss and refine your topic. Your argument must be argumentative and should be based on your experiences and research.

• 6 sources required: 3 database (peer reviewed journals; no ProCon or Opposing Viewpoints articles), 1 non-US source (published in or about another country; could be a database source or online article), 1 survey or interview (could be a database source or census data or Gallup poll), 1 wild card (anything of your choice)
