   Sierra Leone has many rural areas that lack access to trained medical professionals. The strategy’s main goal is to decrease maternal mortality, however, the professional training will not only decrease maternal mortality, but also increase access to care, access to education, increase the income in these new midwifes, and increase the bond between the women in areas near the training site, ultimately empowering women.
   The current proposal accounts for 4 different training sites to be built and implemented in 4 different locations.
