Weeks 1-4 will focus on fictitious students provided in the GCU Class Profile.
Topic 1- Begin creating a math lesson using the GCU Class Profile provided.
For this week you are only expected to complete the standards, differentiation, objective, and assessment portions of this lesson.
Be sure to: 1. Use the standards from your state of South Carolina (common core is the default setting). 2. Explicitly address how to differentiate instruction for students needing extra assistance. 3. Address different learning styles (auditory, kinesthetic, and visual). 4. Make objectives observable and measurable. 5. Reflect upon the assessment: how will you assess students? Why?
Then, using the lesson plan created in Topic 1, revise the lesson plan (if required) using instructor feedback. Add the remaining portions for the lesson. Be detailed and specific. 1. Anticipatory Set – capture attention of students and make the lesson authentic 2. Teach Lesson/Model 3. Guided Practice 4. Independent Practice 5. Closure 6. If outside materials are needed, list in the last section
APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected. You are not required to submit this assignment to Turnitin.
