Learning Modes in Your Classroom
Learning Modes in Your Classroom
This week’s readings impart a rich collection of learning modalities. One cannot discuss experiential learning without discussing Donald Kolb, who posited the experiential learning cycle, and even educational philosopher John Dewey from the 1930s. Other significant contributors of learning modalities include Eugene Sadler-Smith, who offered three dimensions of cognitive style, and Joseph Raelin, who examined action learning, typically found in HRD or management development environments. Are all these constructs mutually exclusive? In other words, should they remain separate, or would you weave these modes together? Why or why not?
