Language and Discrimination Politically Correct Language
The proposal: The topic of my paper will be politically correct language and its effects on society. There are many questions that will be discussed and answered in this paper including, but not limited to the following: Does so called politically correct language actually mitigate the presence of discrimination in our society? What are the unintended consequences that politically correct language creates for our world? What is the perceived difference between the terms ‘race’ and ‘ethnicity’ to the public? Does non-discriminatory language lead to a more peaceful community atmosphere or does it simply mask and hide the existence of mistreatment? How has the presence of politically correct language changed over time? Has it increased drastically since a century ago? Does the prolonged use of politically correct language degrade the language of a community and create an obtrusive unnatural way of speaking? And I want to write how people have difference opinion about this topic.
The example will be related to my Language. Arabic Language. Example, we have African Saudi in Many country. They have dark skin but the Saudi society respect them .However, they are some people call them the word “Khal” which means mole in English. If any one called African Saudi by the word “Khal” that’s means not respect to them and racism against them. However, they could them the word “Asmar” which means someone Broun or has tan skin. Also, in Saudi Arabia, even the word “African Saudi” is considered as racism too and the African Saudi will not accept it ever. On the other hand, in the United States, that’s normal if someone calls the word”: African American” to African people and African American proud of that. Even when someone ask any African American, where are you from, he may say I am African American, but it is impossible to call any one in Saudi Arabia “African Saudi”.
I have 2 articles from the Internet that related to the topic, the writer can take information from them without any copy of the sentences because that will consider as plagiarsm and be careful from that.
And also, you can take sources from the articles by writing” According to the writer “ ” or the writer states” ”…… etc.
