Write in your journal to practice writing using comparison and
contrast this week. Review Ch. 10 of Wordsmith for examples of this
style.Respond to at least two of the following prompts in at least 175
words:Write a description of two of your favorite places using strong
adjectives and imagery, such as figurative language that evokes
pictures, sounds, smells, and so forth in the reader’s mind. Strive
to use sensory imagery to appeal to all of the senses, not just
sight.Think of two family members. Describe their differences in
detail.Think of two of your closest friends. Describe their
similarities in detail.Record your use of a prewriting technique you learned in Week 1
to help you with the narrative essay that will be the assignment
for the next 2 weeks.
