Students should research extensively and prepare a report comparing and contrasting the external environment (economic, financial, political, legal and cultural environment) of China to India. Students would be expected to discuss the implications of these similarities and differences for marketers of the product and based on this discussion, recommend one of these markets as most suitable for international expansion at this stage.

What product should you choose?
Please make sure you choose an Australian product (NOT a service). I would also recommend that you choose a product that is not highly technical in nature. Think about any FMCG (fast moving consumer good) e.g. detergent, sports drinks, biscuits, toothpaste, cereal etc OR cosmetics, handbags, clothing, shoes, furniture etc. The product should be a CONSUMER GOOD not an INDUSTRIAL GOOD.
