Students are required to present their research proposal (Assessment item 1) to their peers and tutor (either through Collaborate online, or in person). The presentation, which should be supported by visual aids such as PowerPoint, Keynote, Prezi and/or a poster, should outline the research plan and showcase the student’s developing communicative skills.
The student should showcase and discuss their approach and experience in negotiating the research plan with their organisation partner.
Milestones
By Week 1 students would have been required to have submitted their research proposal checklist – outlining the type of study they intend to undertake.
By Week 2 students would have been introduced to a framework for structured research in organisations.
By Week 3 students would have a constructed knowledge of how to construct a literature review pertaining to a particular research problem.
By Week 4 students would have received a research proposal template.
Students are encouraged to email their unit tutor if they require further assistance after exhausting all support materials present in the Study Guide.
Assessment 3: Report

Research Report
Students are required to undertake a research project involving industry. After acquiring knowledge regarding how to conduct research, and possible problem spaces in which to research, the student will be required to apply these skills in practice. The student should engage with an organisation in which to undertake this research project.
Students are required to present a final written report based off their research project. This should follow the generic structure outlined in the Study Guide (Topics 7–10).
The Study Guide corresponding to this unit, in combination with the lecture material and textbook have been designed to equip the student with everything that they need to undertake this work integrated learning research project.
Assignments will be subject to TurnItIn Analysis to ensure authenticity and originality.
Deliverables
At the end of Week 6 students would have completed their research proposal.
By Week 7 students should have finalised their research tools, and be seeking to administer them in their selected organisation.
By the end of Week 9 students should be analysing collected data.
By the end of Week 11 students should have obtained the results from the data analysis, and be in the process of writing up their report in final draft form.

About this unit
Enables students to undertake an analysis of a business, industry or social problem or opportunity which students undertake at a substantially independent level in this capstone research unit. Through learning, developing and applying an evidence-based research design, students create an industry-accessible publication that reports on the research process and elaborates on business solutions and research implications.
