Project Instruction:
1. Please select 5 recent articles at least 1000 words or more on global political and economic issues related to the course. The reviewed articles must be published after January 1, 2014. If you would like to use an older article please contact me for permission.
2. Preferred sources: The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Financial Times, Forbes Magazine, Business Week, Bloomberg Business Week.
3. You can select articles on different topics/issues or all articles related to one main topic/issue.
4. Each review must be at least 4 (four) pages double-spaced in length
5. The reviews must follow a format/template provided in the Blackboard. This format is as follows: title of the article, author, source, publishing date, several bullet points describing the content, your review and separate heading: my opinion. At the end provide a link to the source or upload a separate file named: source.
6. Be analytical. You should address the current events and economic theories; use the articles to show your understanding of the economic/political context. Try to explain how the events are related to each other. The grading criteria are: a) good selection of articles, b) quality and relevance of the reviews, c) use of theories and the concepts presented in the course.

The suggested topics/subjects for the reviews are:
– The international economic relations in the world and their underlying political circumstances
– Global governance of international finance and trade
– Specific countries economic policies – how they cope with the issues of trade, investments, environment, poverty, inequality
– The impact of globalization on wages, standard of living, environment
– The international currency issues
– The position of the USA in the world today
– The economic integration and its impact of economic growth
– USA trade with China and India and Asian countries
– The role of the IMF, World Bank, and other international organizations.
– World poverty and hunger.
– The ethical issues of globalization
