You are required to generate a 1 km x 1 km (cell size of raster data) raster
for EACH of the following themes for County Clare:
- Total population (available in the original shapefile)
- Total houses (total_houses.csv)
- Permanent private households by central heating (heating.csv)
- Permanent private households by water supply (water_supply.csv)
- Permanent private households by sewerage facility (sewerage.csv)
Firstly you will need to join the “Census2011_Small_Areas_generalised20m” shapefile with the csv table of the relevant dataset and by using GEOGRID as the field in the layer that the join is based on.
Then you will be able to generate the rasters by using dedicated ArcGIS tools
available in the ArcToolBox.
You are required also to produce a short report presenting the relevant results (plots of maps) and statistics (histograms and pie-‐charts) for each of the themes listed above. Please note that marks will also be given for meaningful ways to present and visualise the results of your analysis.
