My French boyfriend has an illegitimate child with a British ex. He lives in the UK; she lives and works in Paris. The baby was born 2 years ago. The father is not on the birth certificate. He pays maintenance for the child. She fell pregnant unknowing to the father and told him when she was 3 months pregnant. No DNA test was carried out. They have a casual arrangement whereby the ‘father’ sees the child every few months. Where does he stand generally?
