Feferal rules of evidence exemptions
Feferal rules of evidence exemptions
Federal Rules of Evidence (FRE) prohibit the introduction of
character evidence in regards to a defendant’s possible guilt. This
prohibition also includes not allowing the introduction of evidence
of past criminal activity. In 1995, the FRE were amended and
exceptions to the general rule were created (FRE 413, 414, and
415). Discuss those exceptions and why the court has seen fit to
create them.
