Explain the purpose of an internal scan and how it is different from an external scan: Internal and external scans allow an institution to “weave” together data to create an effective strategy that contributes to the progress and effectiveness of an institution (Bryson, 2018). From what I have read in “Strategic Planning for Public and Non-Profit Organizations”, it appears to me that internal scanning involves data derived from within the institution such as current enrollment numbers and external scanning involves outside trends that may affect the institution such as data derived from similar type institutions (Bryson, 2018).
