Compare and contrast the teaching of
vocabulary according to Keith S. Folse and Stephen Krashen. Use your
text, the Ashford University library, and the Internet to conduct your
research. How do these two experts approach the teaching of vocabulary?
Provide at least two vocabulary exercises that each of these individuals might suggest.
I believe that Folse would recommend the “Standard Multi-Word Gap Fill” (found at http://www.cpr4esl.com/gerrys_vocab_teacher/teaching_suggestions.html), and “Word Wheels” (Peregoy & Boyle, 2008) as mentioned in our class text. Krashen would likely recommend using Total Physical Response (a.k.a TPR) (Peregoy & Boyle, 2008) and Word Wizard (Peregoy & Boyle, 2008).
