Does insufficient vitamin D have a negative impact on mortality rates in the critically ill patient?

Critical care Nursing.
Narrative Review (4800 – 5300 words).

Question: Does insufficient vitamin D have a negative impact on mortality rates in the critically ill patient?

Papers: I have 10 papers that I would like to use already – this will be uploaded.

Brief: This is one of the most important sections of your dissertation. In summary the narrative should be an integrated, in-depth critical and analytical discussion of the findings of your literature appraisal. This must be written as continuous prose. Your articles identified in your facet analysis should be the stars of your work, however you should also include related material accessed from books, journals and other sources that you have critically reflected upon and which gives weight to your discussion. In addition you should compare and contrast your own experiences with that which the best evidence suggests is the most effective. All statistical concepts should be explained and interpreted.
The way the narrative is approached is entirely up to you however most students identify themes or chapters to break the narrative into more manageable sections. These themes are entirely individual and will depend wholly on your review question, the evidence base and your critical appraisal. Therefore a one size fits all approach to the narrative does not apply. Make it clear to the reader what the key issues are that your narrative will address so that the structure and agenda for the proceeding discussion is set.
Within the narrative please identify each chapter/theme/issue by using a subheading. However within each section the text must flow so any additional subheadings must be kept to a minimum. In addition bullet points are not usually encouraged. During the narrative you must be developing your implications for practice and giving insight into the direction of the concluding statement.
The section ends with a statement which answers the review question(s).
N.B. The Narrative is not a descriptive account of the literature

IDEA: Whilst completing my facet analysis 3 themes became apparent from the 10 articles:

1- methods of taking the samples of vitamin D or agreeable levels for sufficient levels/insufficient and diffident levels – no policy (NICE or NHS).
2- Length of hospital stay – ALL papers stated a patient with difficient vitamin D became longer patients in hospital
3- Clinical outcomes – increased effects vitamin D deficiency has on patients.

HARVARD referencing. When using any of the 10 articles please add superscript numbering to the reference, i will upload an example with a list of which paper is allocated to what superscript number.
