Did the decline(end?) of military domination of Thai politics mean democratisation, or the shift to another form of domination?

This essay should focus on the military domination of Thailand. The essay should be analytical, explaining why events occurred and what impact they had on democratisation.

The question itself can be answered using the ANDERSON article that i will be uploading and that article is very important to formulate an argument. But that just gives one point of view in favour saying that as the military has declined thailand has moved towards democratisation.

Anderson explains this through analysing the pattern of political killings. Basically from before 1932 to 1972. The essay should be structured around a timeline ranging before and after the time period i have stated.

The essay should briefly describe the political structure during each period. Very brief description of the shift of power from monarchy and military post 1932. Leading upto 1970 where the parliament began to gain power.

The essay should be analytical and theorectical. Don’t simply describe how and why the military declined and thailand moved towards democratisation but give competing views to anderson.

Look at other factors apart from the military that brought about democratisation

Also look at competing views that would suggest that thailand has not infact moved towards democratisation but other forms of domination.

This could be domination in the form of COMPETITIVE AUTHOROTARIANISM.

Also look at how certain military rulers took the country towards certain democratic forms of government. Mainly the military dictator named Sarit.

Please make sure the referencing style is harvard and that the essay is well structured. This essay is worth 25% of my grade so please make sure it is upto the platinum quality level.

Also, and this is the most important thing. The essay should not be descriptive at all, it should be as analytical as possible. Do not just present just one point of view but several. And the conclusion can be ambigous and you do not need to give a definite conclusion.

In the intro give an outline of what you seek to achieve through the essay and what you will be discussing and what exactly the essay will focus on.
