Court Compare and Contrast Paper
In the United States trial courts in the
federal justice system are called district courts. The district
courts have
jurisdiction to hear any type of federal cases including criminal
and also
civil federal cases. There are 94 federal judicial
districts, including at least one district in each state, the
District
of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
Three territories of the United States
— the Virgin Islands, Guam, and the Northern Mariana
Islands — have district courts that hear federal cases,
including
bankruptcy cases.(uscourts.gov.nd.par.2). Each federal district has
at least one courthouse,
and there are many districts that have more than one.
