Country Analysis Paper

Country Analysis Paper

Assume you are contracted by a firm to evaluate the possibility of expanding its operations to a country of your own choice.Write a paper not exceeding 13 pages on your chosen country (any country except the United States may be chosen) on the suitability of investing in that country. You will need to choose the type of business that you will build your paper around. In the analysis, consider the following factors: the country’s political structure and politics, economic structure and its economy, imports and exports, its GDP mix, economic indicators such as trends in inflation, interest rates, economic development, unemployment, its educational levels, literacy, foreign direct investment, fiscal and monetary policies, external shocks that have affected the economy, economic history especially if it has undergone changes, labor force and legal structure. As you analyze each factor, be sure to relate it to the project. For instance, suppose that you are analyzing the potential for Xcel energy to enter China and in your research you find out that the middle class has since 2006 expanded by 15% per year and this trend is expected to continue. It is not enough to just state that the middle class in China has grown by 15% on yearly basis over the past 4 years and will continue to do so in the near future. You need to provide a context for your statement. Specifically, how your client’s business will be affected. You may frame this statement as follows:Since 2006, the middle class in China has expanded at 15% per annum and this trend is expected to continue. This growth provides an excellent opportunity for Xcel Energy because the middle class will purchase more electronic products that will increase the consumer demand for electricity.
