One of the central ways in which the field of Community Psychology defines itself is how the field differs from traditional psychological theory. For example, while traditional psychological theory often focuses on the individual and how he or she thinks and behaves, Community Psychology focuses instead on groups and the various ways in which groups or communities think and behave.
