Calc check – moment of inertia on centroidal yy axis – Rick
Hi, I am new to these calcs and was wondering if anyone could confirm a calculation on the Moment of inertia on centroidal yy axis of an uneven U beam made of 4mm steel.
Base along the x axis is 50mm wide and 4 thick
Vertical section is 100mm high and 4mm thick
Top section is 25mm wide and 4 mm thick.
Total area = 28,600mm ^2
Centroidal y axis of 42.81mm
Moment of Inertia = 6.19 x 10^5 mm^4
Cheers Rick
