Block A of mass 120kg is connected to another block B of mass 40kg by an inextensible cable over a frictionless pulley . The coefficient of kinetic friction between block B and the 30degrees inclined plane is 0.3. Block B is attached to a spring of stiffness 1kN/m and in the position shown , the spring is at its undeformed length. Block A is now released from rest and the cable remains taut during motion. If block A has moved down by 1.2m from the position shown and using Work-Energy method , determine:
a) the frictional force
b)the initial total energy
c)the work done
d) the final total energy
e) the final velocity and,
f) the time taken for this travel…
