Annual report analysis interpretation

I am writing an analysis of Amazon.com’s 2010 annual report and I am getting tripped up on how to interpret the numbers given. For example on the consolidated
balance sheet total assets for 2010 is listed (in millions) as: $18,797 and long term debt for the same year is listed at: 184.

Do I interpret those numbers to be 18,797,000 or would that constitute billions of dollars since there is a comma?

Also I am supposed to answer the following questions:
1. Does the company use the single-step income statement, multiple-step, or a variation of both?

2. Describe the Trend in net income over the years presented.

3. does the company have other comprehensive income? if yes, what is the nature of the transactions?

4. does the company use the indirect or direct method of the cash flow statement?

5. what is the trend in cash from operations for theyears presented?

6 have there been any subsequent events, errors and irregularities, illegal acts, or related-party transactions that have a material effect on the financial
statemetns?

7. Describe the trend in total assets and total liabilities for the years presented.

8. does the income statement contain any separately reported items, including discontinued operations or extraordinary items? If so, describe.

Is this the question you were looking for? If so, place your order here to get started!
