The present paper is regarding Acme Toys Inc. This organization is a leading toy manufacturer. The organization is looking forward to make sure that it sets up a network for enabling its employees to ensure that, communication is being carried out between the employees. The organization needs communication systems for employees who range from IT professionals and employees working in research and development employees. As a result of diversified profiles of employees, it is important for the organization to make sure that, the organization makes use of appropriate operating systems. The organization needs a separate network for its research and development team for certain security reasons. The organization is also looking forward to ensure that, it expands its network by 50% within a period of 6 months. The operating system to be used by the organization is to be taken into consideration for ensuring that, better results are being generated.

Requirements of Acme Toys

The requirement of Acme Toys is to ensure that, it sets up network system for its research and development team as well as for its team working in the area of research and development. For research and development team of the organization, workstation need would include workstation with appropriate hardware and software facilities being available (Walters, 2012). The research and development team would require software which would have tight integration between CPU and graphics. This would help in making sure that, the work is being completed in a manner that, there is lower level of cost being incurred. Another of the requirement of Acme Toys is to have a network system available to it. With help of network system, the organization would make sure that, it is being working well towards the area of ensuring that, the actions are being performed in a proper manner so that, best results are being obtained in the course of doing the tasks being performed.

The kinds of servers which would be required by research and development team within the workplace is the server which would ensure that, information in the research and development department of the organization is moved from one place to another in a proper manner. With help of proper information, it is going to be easier for the organization to ensure that, each of the people working in the team has knowledge of the areas being carried out by members of the other team.

Requirements of Operating System

In the present case, the operating system to be used by the organization Acme Toys must ensure that it carries out certain activities. One of the requirements which would be required to be carried out by the operating system taken into consideration in the present scenario is that this would help in process management for the organization. In course another of the requirements, the organization would be working towards ensuring that, operating system also carries out activity of management of operating devices and resources.

Third requirement which would be carried out by this method would include memory handling, allocation and management work (Rainie, 2012). In case of research and development related work, it is very important to make sure that, management of work is being carried out in an appropriate manner. Without management of work, it is going to be difficult to ensure that, better results are being generated.

The operating system would also work towards the activity of error reporting. If there are certain errors in the course of research and management, it is going to be important for the organization to ensure that, errors are being identified and better results are being generated regarding reporting of errors. The protection of resources is another of the activity which is to be carried out by the organization with help of operating system. This would help in ensuring that, the organization is being carrying out activities regarding research and development in a proper and appropriate manner.

Other Requirements

In the organization, there are certain other requirements which are to be carried out by the new system. The hardware for the organization would include routers, computer systems, Wi-Fi modems for internet connection and various other kinds of devices which would help in moving of information from one place to another. The software requirement for the organization would be the requirement of having appropriate operating systems. The software for testing quality of toys would also be required by the organization. The quality of toys would be important for the organization as it would help it in making sure that, customers are being satisfied with the products being provided by it to them.

In terms of security, the operating system must be of such kind that, the organization is able to make sure that it can help the organization to keep passwords in the system. With help of passwords, it is going to be easier for the organization to keep the information safe and secure without much problem for it. The different types of users would include research and development team and networking team.

The resources to be managed by the operating system in the present scenario would include the resources regarding the research and development reports being created by the organization. These resources would definitely help the organization to make sure that, it is preparing the reports properly and identifying the fact that, whether the research and development reports would be used by the organization in a proper and appropriate manner by it or not.
