Final Paper

For this assignment, choose one of the following topics:
Evaluate the role of cognition in the development of stereotyping and prejudice. Explain and use examples to illustrate the incorporation of cognitive processes as a basis for stereotyping and prejudice.
Identify and analyze different theories of cognitive learning styles. Create scenarios to illustrate their effective application in the elementary, secondary, and postsecondary learning settings.
Debate the dysexecutive syndrome as an explanation for Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD). Compare and contrast it with current genetic, environmental, and traumatic theories.
Explain the effects of Alzheimer’s disease on memory. Describe historical evaluations and approaches to the disorder and compare to current research regarding possible causes and treatments.
The assignment should be between eight- to ten-pages in length (excluding title page and reference page), and be supported by research from at least seven scholarly sources, not including the course text.
Writing the Final Paper

Must be eight- to ten-double-spaced pages in length, and formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.
Must include a cover page that includes:
Title of paper
Student’s name
Course name and number
Instructor’s name
Date submitted
Must include an introductory paragraph with a succinct thesis statement.
Must address the topic of the paper with critical thought.
Must conclude with a restatement of the thesis and a conclusion paragraph.
Must use at least seven scholarly sources, not including the course text, and including a minimum of three from the Ashford University Library.
Must use APA style as outlined in the approved APA style guide to document all sources.
Must include, on the final page, a Reference Page that is completed according to APA style as outlined in the approved APA style guide.
